Religious education based on the teaching principles of Maria Montessori, designed for children ages 3 – 12 years old.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) came about through the work of two Roman Catholic laywomen in Rome: Sofia Cavalletti and Gianna Gobbi. They were inspired by the educational principles of Maria Montessori, also a devout Catholic, who believed that her “method” was fulfilled in teaching religious education. The materials that are prepared for the children, in a special space called the Atrium, are based on the Bible, the Roman Catholic liturgy and sacraments, Tradition, and Church teachings. CGS Sessions are held on Sunday mornings and Wednesday afternoons in the Saint Nicholas Spirituality Center.
